This entails adding two resistors, one on the lower midrange woofer, and one on the upper midrange. The schematic calls for 1.5 ohm / 22 watt on the lower, and a 2.5 ohm / 22 watt on the upper. WebWhen designing a circuit for a speaker system, it is assumed that inductors have only inductance, capacitors have capacitance, and resistors have resistance. This is not true, and can cause major problems when designing circuits. For an example, look at a 1st order low pass Butterworth crossover at 100 Hz for an 8 ohm speaker.

The midrange (not the tweeter) sounded too loud on those older crossovers (as well as the new ones) and I all I need to do is lower the highs on my EQ's to give me the exact sound I want.
